The Israeli producer Hevi Levi has kept momentum going with a steady run of singles since his stroke, each one underlining his steadfast commitment to techno. He has logged more than 33 million streams and played everywhere from tight underground rooms to major stages at Tomorrowland, Laundry Day, Escape, Sensation, Space, Futurami, IT, Ministry Of Sound, ADE, and Pacha.
The track teams Hevi Levi with fellow Israeli Amay’e, whose work fuses Afro-inspired grooves with melodic techno so the rhythm stays front and center and quieter moments still register. Shifting basslines and crisp kick drums keep the energy locked in across the track’s nearly five-minute span. The standout features of the track are the gritty reverbed effects on the base as well as a seductive synth line that weaves in and out through the track, adding new layers and sophistication to the single, confirming both producers are operating at full strength.
Hevi Levi shared: “When I was teaching djing, I used to have a lesson about the unpopular girl. It’s easy to make the most beautiful girl dance because she has a lot of confidence, but if you see the unpopular girl dancing and dominating the floor, you know that you have won the crowd’s heart.
